Narrated by Oscar winner Alicia Vikander, this cinematic meditation on humanity’s massive reengineering of the planet comes from the award winning team that brought you Watermark (2013).

Four years in the making, Anthropocene traverses the globe from Kenya, where mounds of illegal elephant tusks are set alight, to surreal lithium farms in Chile and colossal psychedelic potash mines in Russia’s Ural Mountains. The striking images demonstrate how humans are shaping our planet at an ever-increasing rate – hence the title, for this is the age in which human activity is the dominant influence on the environment.

The film seeks to reveal rather than lecture
